What Is a Truckload of Liquidation Pallets? Who Should Buy One?

If you have been browsing liquidation suppliers, you have probably seen the term “truckload” used alongside individual pallets. What exactly is a truckload? Who needs one? And is it the right move for your business? This guide answers all of it.

What Is a Liquidation Truckload?

A liquidation truckload is simply a full truck’s worth of liquidation inventory — typically 20–26 pallets loaded onto a single 53-foot freight trailer. Instead of buying one pallet at a time, you are buying the entire truck.

Truckloads are how large liquidation buyers — bin stores, discount retail chains, wholesale distributors, and exporters — purchase their inventory. The per-unit cost on a truckload is significantly lower than buying individual pallets because you are buying at maximum volume.

What Types of Truckloads Are Available?

At Pallet Liquidation Mart we carry several truckload categories:

  • Amazon Grocery Truckload — 24 pallets of non-perishable food and household items
  • Appliances & Furniture Truckload — large-item liquidation for resellers with warehouse space
  • Apparel & Shoes Truckload — mixed clothing and footwear for clothing resellers
  • Electronics Truckload — consumer electronics in bulk for tech resellers and exporters

Who Should Buy a Truckload?

Truckloads are the right choice if you meet at least one of these criteria:

You have warehouse or storage space. A full truckload of 24 pallets takes up significant floor space — typically 2,000–3,000 square feet depending on how high you stack. You need a warehouse, large garage, or storage unit to receive a truckload.

You have a forklift or dock access. Freight truckloads deliver on a 53-foot trailer. You need either a loading dock, a forklift, or liftgate service (additional fee) to unload. If you do not have these, arrange a liftgate delivery in advance.

You can move volume. Truckloads make sense when you have a sales channel that can absorb high volume — a bin store, a flea market with multiple booths, an active eBay/Amazon store, or a wholesale distribution business.

You want the lowest cost per unit. Truckload pricing gives you the best cost-per-unit available. If you regularly buy 3–4 pallets at a time, a truckload is almost always cheaper.

Who Should Buy Individual Pallets?

Individual pallets are better if:

  • You are new to liquidation and want to test a category before committing to volume
  • You have limited storage space
  • You sell through one channel (e.g. a single flea market booth)
  • You want to manage cash flow by buying smaller quantities more frequently
